A lot has happened

Well here I am back in bloggerland a lot has happened in the last couple of months sad to say my mother in law passed away 9 days before Christmas in fact the day after finding my daughter on the floor of her bedroom during an epileptic fit her face was covered in blood and she had cut her eye. A 3 hour trip to the A&E and then back home thankfully she didn't have the baby with her. My mother in laws funeral was on Christmas Eve the only day left before the new year so we had to go with that, can you say a funeral was nice because this one was my hubby and sister in law did her proud. The church looked lovely we had carols instead of hymns and they concentrated on the birth as my mother in law was a midwife so it all seemed very fitting. Even the crematorium was lovely and at the undertakers suggestion she went out with Silent Night very appropriate. We did have a few hairy moments which would have made her laugh at her bequest she wanted a cardboard coffin and the undertaker was concerned at a the weather we had had a lot of rain and b the coffin only came in one size 6ft long wide and deep and sagged when lifted so "do you mind if we use a trolley". Anyway as we say in these parts we gave her a good send off.

Needless to say Christmas shopping went out of the window but on a positive note daughter number two invited us to her house for Christmas dinner I had already bought the turkey so "can you cook it" "can I borrow your dining table and chairs your crockery, cutlery, Christmas table cloths and serving dishes" We did have a very nice lunch and she did very well considering she has never cooked for 8 people before.

The highs have been spending time with my new grandson he slept over with his mam for a couple of nights and then last weekend my little ray of sunshine stayed at our house without his parents I had a fab time and can't wait for his next visit.

 

I hope this post has not been too maudlin I must go now as I have lots of peoples blogs to catch up on. On another positive note we now have a new computer so no more crashing for me.
