My mothers day present this year was afternoon tea at Beamish Hall which is an 18th Century country house.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beamish_Hall this present was for myself, my mother and my two daughters who then included two of my sisters.
We had a lovely window seat with a lovely view of the gardens.
And a nice overall view of the Eden room.
Before afternoon tea was served some of us had a piece of quiche with salad but I won't divulge who.
Afternoon tea arrived.
I chose cheese savoury mmmmm after sandwiches which do you choose first ?.
Scones with cream and jam.
Carrot cake or chocolate eclair.
Or a nice fruit tart.
Well believe it or not this is how much was left.
Not a lot.
We then decided to have a walk through the hall.
I just love the dumb waiter.
Now who would be dumb enough to get inside it.
My camera battery was almost empty so forgive the lack of photo's but please visit the website for some fascinating facts about this ancient hall and grounds.
Part of the grounds now form Beamish Open Air Museum www.beamish.org.uk/ and is well worth a visit if you are ever in the area if not then check out the website.
Lastly I would just like to thank my daughters for another lovely mothers day treat.
And I would like to thank them too, for allowing gatecrashers!
