This is the year that sees a new fitter me (if I keep it up) and as my doctor has been telling me for years to take up swimming and my sister putting me to shame I finally took the plunge literally. As I was still off work it was easy peasy but now I'm back at work it's going to be tougher. I am going to try and swim 1 mile a session and so far have managed to do it, it is hard keeping track of how many lengths I do either it's my old forgetful mind or the fact that I can't count (take your pick). My sister also suggested a couple of websites to help motivate me so at this present moment I'm busy (as I type) swimming the English Channel only a mere distance of : 41055.752 M which equates to
Pool Lengths (25m): 1642.2. I have already completed 39.1% in a total of 10 swims.
Now swimming the channel is not easy first you have to grease up to keep the cold out (the swimming pool doesn't like you to do that) and secondly it's very busy lots of ferries keep getting in your way.
My other virtual challenge is swimming in St Kitts now this is much better the weather is warmer it's a shorter swim (only 8 miles) so should be a doddle as we say here. the only problem I have is forgetting to take off the fat and putting on the suncream before swimming in St Kitts and I have virtually burnt myself. I am 68% complete with this challenge.
Well I must go I have to rest before another swim tomorrow.
