I like the design both from the outside
and the inside.
It is an Olympic size pool and has some very clever technology, 2 days a week you are able to swim 51 metre lengths the other times you are swimming 25 metre lengths. It does get a little confusing at times as you never know which way you are going to swim for instance you might be swimming in the separate diving pool, or the main pool might be in two 25 metre sections with 1 section swimming width ways and the other section swimming length ways. Now here is some of the technology that goes on in this pool the shape of the roof is designed to collect rainfall (which we have had an awful lot of lately) then it is filtered and reused in the pool. The shallow end of the pool can be lowered or heightened which I find amazing and the separate diving pool floor rises so it can be used as a play pool for children when the 50m lanes are in use. It also has a movable barrier to separate the two 25m swimming areas.
The Olympic Torch even made an appearance carried by Steve Cram.
he is standing on the movable barrier.
Well now you have an insight into my favourite swimming pool the time has come for me to go and have a splash.

Wow, Paula! This is a beautiful Aquatic Centre! Swimming is supposed to be one of the best ways to exercise.
